Okay, this is not totally VT news, but maybe still interesting for some of you. =)
As seen on Jarkko's page, Kroisos members (Jarkko, Ville, Olli) are conspiring again and are talking about putting together a cd with both old and new stuff.

I'm sorry folks. There simply hasn't been anything going on, so please excuse the long absence and inactivity on this page!
It's been a few months, yeah. And what is there to say...
First of all - In reaction to several nicely or less nicely formulated questions, you'll find a song from February's gig in Kuopio in the music section. Check it out!
And as always, there are signs that the guys are actually making some new music ;-) Please be patient and drop by here regularly! As soon as there are news, you will be able to read them here, I promise!
So there's no need to write tons of e-mails to me and ask about new stuff. I simply don't know anything more than I'm writing here! Thanks! *g*

Some little subjective and short report about the gig at Puijonsarvi
Dear friends, it did take a while, but they are back with their first live gig in the last 2 years. It was something like that which a group of excited girls heard on the evening of Friday, February 14, 2003 in Puijonsarvi Nightclub, and a few minutes later, Vieraileva Tähti was to be back.
But before, there was some time to spend waiiting. Doors opened at nine, we were pretty much the first people there and watched the location get filled with every minute. A little later than the planned time of 22:00, the medal ceremony for that day's part of the Finnish championships took place, which was fun too, but all the time between 9 and 11 glimpses could be caught of long-haired men (who was that anyway?), blond-haired bassists, almost-no-hair-at-all drummers and later some hooded black shape, which wasn't the worst sight either...
The pulse went up during the ceremony and we were wondering what to expect. After all, we got some really "assuring" info from one band member two nights before, that they needed a little more practice... :) All possibly existing sorrows should be destroyed soon. The guys came on stage one by one, Kimmo on keyboards, Olli on drums, Rieti Jauhiainen on percussion, Jussi on bass, Antti on acoustic guitar, Samppa on solo guitar and at last Ville, guitar and lead vocals. Am I allowed to say that it was just cool to see him alive? ;-)
They were finally back. Starting off with some crazy playback music made everyone laugh, and the opener Riskiyhteiskunnan vastamyrkyt (whew!) was well-chosen; the crowd moved up to the stage edge and the atmosphere got lively.
Power at the beginning, Ajatuksia following, which has not been published except on this website and it is a lot better to be heard in front of the stage than as some mp3 file on the computer, I can assure you. But that should be clear anyway!
After that came the first single record title Suomen kevein mies - no, wait, it was renamed - Suomen speden mies, whoever that's supposed to be. Except for the little word no change, which means that people don't have to get crazy now. Great that night live!
With some minor breaks due to sort of technical problems in the rear of the stage (no names are published :) ) the guys continued their show. It was neat to hear more "new" stuff, besides the opener they played Laura and Muukalainen, both times with Antti singing lead vocals, supported first by Ville and in the second song by Samppa. Another one who sang all the time but no one heard him was Kimmo behind the keyboard, almost jumping around as much as Ville...
Muukalainen was followed by another playback bit and then Raunioissa. Forgive me not to be objective, but it is still my favorite song, and this one also sounded really great... :)
After six songs, there had to come some end. The guys went off stage, but since people wanted more, they came up again and first improvised a little which was mighty cool to hear.
Then Ville repeated that they didn't have any more songs (ooch...) and asked the German fans which song they wanted to hear again. As their choice, it was once more Suomen kevein mies, but after that, it was really over, unfortunately...

Oh, and a very big thanks to the people who managed to get little young webmasters into the clubs... 0=)

We gladly announce...
The gig will take place at Puijonsarvi night club in Kuopio on
February 14th, 2003.
Serious preparations are rolling with the first band practice
in quite some time, and to quote Jarkko, 'it looked and
sounded good'.
In addition, the songs for the gig are all ready. Now let's see
and wait for the best results =)
Maybe you've read it already in the forum, there's a new record
planned, both album and single. The band is getting an offer from
Edel Records soon and if everything works out, spring time
will be used for going to studio.
The schedule could look as follows: in summer the first single
will be released and around the end of the year, the album.
Probably the stuff will be released in Finland and Germany.
After the competitions in Japan (let's say 2 weeks?) we hope
to be able to provide you with even more news about this.

Yippie, there is something new =)
- The next VT gig is planned for mid-February '03, during the Finnish championships (jumping and combined) in Kuopio. If you get the chance, go there and support the band as well as PHS!
- Ville is on his way back to the scene, training hard and eventually going to take part in the first snow camps already, but no guarantee on that, main stress is on physical training. And of course he makes music ;-)
- Apropos music, the guys are going (partly) new ways with new combinations just for fun, e.g. Samppa plays covers together with some friends, Jussi tells about some heavier stuff, not to forget Ylivoima...
- Oh, and I'll of course try to get the latest news for you all as soon as there are any. Sorry that this has been sort of sleeping lately (just look down a few lines...), I hope there will be more to tell in the future.

Once again only sports news...
NC summer grand prix is over, results are... hm, I don't know. Antti went back home two competitions early after an accident in Steinbach; Samppa finished the cup as overall 10th.

The Finnish ski jumping team for the summer competitions in Hinterzarten (GER) and Courchevel (FRA) is announced, with neither Jussi nor Ville taking part. Hm... come on guys...
The Nordic Combined team for summer is the same as last year's winter squad, including Samppa and Antti, Jaakko Tallus, Mikko Keskinarkaus, Jouni Kaitainen, and Hannu Manninen, who'll start only in Winterberg though.

Bad news for German fans:
"Officially I must inform all that tour is totally cancelled. Reasons:
Samppa is so busy after huge success, so band has no time to practise.
I have no time to organize tour and places and time for practice.
Thank you for all the people who has been helpful trying to find good places for gigs. I will keep this info and use it in the future. Tour will come but not this spring."

Olli has moved to Lahti, he is studying there at Vierumäki Sports Institute to become sports instructor. So the band is in three cities now...
Still, there are plans for a tour in spring.
Ville finished recordings... we'll see to that later.
Sports... they're waiting for snow :)

Ville is recording his first solo single which will be ready some time in October. If everything works out well, it will be released end of this year.
As far as VT is concerned, they want to have some rehearsals together in the next time. Everyone's mostly concentrated on sports though.
